Liquid Pumping between Surfactant Solution Droplets with Electrowetting through High Aspect Ratio Virtual Microchannel

Abstract

We propose a simple way to pump liquid through wall-less virtual microchannels between surfactant solution droplets driven by electrowetting-on-dielectric (EWOD). Instead of establishing the wall-less virtual microchannels with electric manners, the surfactant-stabilized virtual microchannels were achieved when drawing a droplet out of a reservoir with sequentially activated driving electrodes.
